I was driving back from Holmfirth this evening when my petrol light started blinking. I looked at the Computer - which informed me that I have 13 miles remaining  . I was just about to overtake a car, past the Flouch, the Turbo kicked in, and the car died  .

I was running out of fuel :gag: luckily Stockbridge is almost all way down hill, so i rolled it down the hills ( had to slow for the 2 cameras) and drove at 40 mph on the flat.

whilst driving at 40mph in a 50 I was overtaken by an angry possy of micra / fiestas - and if your one of these I am sorry - because like you, I hate incompetent slow drivers!

So anyway, I made into Stockbridge to find a threesome on unbranded petrol stations  . so I stuck a fiver in and continued the nearest Shell.

THE END!

Hi

This post made me smile at your signiture :)

Computers in cars
Well theyre not that clever are they?

Even the cleverest will only take your AVERAGE fuel consumption since you reset it and then take a guess on that with what it THINKS is left in your tank.

A lottery at best.

They are never going to be so clever that they know EXACTLY whats in your tank and how economically you will drive, or not, till you get there.

Cheers

Nope. Nor brake wear sensors, nor water level meter, nor oil level meter.

I never let petrol get below 1/4 full mark (was told not a good idea to let it get too low cos of all the crap in your tank).

I Don't trust my cars speedo.
The other day my speedo indicated I was doing 122 MPH.

Don't believe it for a minute, I was going much faster I'm sure.

I might try it on the Motorway next time instead of a 30 Zone.
