Went to the Showroom tonight to see a film about the Sheffield Flood. Called "The Forgotten Flood" it was made by a local film maker - his first film - and was only 30 mins long. It was really good - there's no archive film, so it was reconstructions and archive pictures etc. What was interesting, was how little is known in Sheffield about this major disaster. Why, I wonder?

Because at the time there were bigger things in the public conscienciousness!

Floods are sent to test the public's resolve. It sort of clears the decks. In many ways they are back in fashion, although its all waves or tsunarmi now. How times change!:)
