There's a guy on the radio saying about movies that should be made. Would you go see a movie version of 24 ? How would it work what with it being 24 hours long ? Bring a bottle and a bucket ?!

View Full Version : 24: The Movie - viable ? Grissom 25-08-2008, 17:54 There's a guy on the radio saying about movies that should be made. Would you go see a movie version of 24 ? How would it work what with it being 24 hours long ? Bring a bottle and a bucket ?! donuticus 25-08-2008, 18:04 It's happening http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0813980/. It's just going to be a bog standard action movie by the look of it which kind of defeats the purpose. Funky_Gibbon 25-08-2008, 18:07 Well if you cut out all the talky bits and side-stories that go nowhere it'd only last a few hours anyway. Grissom 25-08-2008, 18:12 And there I was thinking the chap was joking ! Sounds like it could be pants Rich 25-08-2008, 18:32 Probably will be... X Files movie anyone? OK the first one wasn't too bad, but the second one sucks, even the Yanks hated it, and it's had bad reviews in most of the papers here as well. If there's a movie of a TV show I'd like to see made, it has to be a live action version of Battle of the Planets, but knowing Hollywood, they'd ruin it somehow! In fact sod live action, almost all live action films of cartoons have been craptacular (Rosie O'Donnell as Betty Rubble?! Eh?!) Suffragette1 25-08-2008, 20:08 Absolutely not. The USP of 24 is that it's in 'real time', so how could the movie possibly work? I love 24, am a huge fan, but would not go to see the movie. haddockman 26-08-2008, 08:28 Apparantly the film is not going to be released in the cinema, but will be a 2 hour special show on Sky. Bago 28-08-2008, 23:47 I don't think it will work, and also, why now? You should really make release the film when its the most popular. I don't get why X-file 2 is released years later... X-file 1 was just abot bearable and in tune with the series when it was out. Suffragette1 02-09-2008, 15:20 Apparently the movie is the bridge the gap between seasons 6 and 7 and is a 'prequel' to the latter, rather than a stand alone movie. Details taken from Wiki are below: 24: Exile (Prequel) Main article: 24: Exile FOX will air a two-hour "prequel" TV movie on November 23, 2008 that bridges the gap between seasons.[2] The storyline of the prequel takes place during Inauguration Day for the next U.S. President, Allison Taylor, and is shot partially in South Africa.[2][7] "[Jack] is a soul in turmoil and has been moving from place to place trying to find somewhere he can be at peace," says co-executive producer, Manny Coto. "But he winds up in Africa in the middle of a military coup." Meanwhile, Bauer is subpoenaed to appear before the Senate hearing while in Africa, but doesn't want to go.[8] Howard Gordon revealed the prequel takes place approximately a year after day six.[9] On July 13, director Jon Cassar revealed on his personal website that principal shooting for the prequel has been completed and post-production has begun.[10] Ginner 02-09-2008, 15:51 Apparently the movie is the bridge the gap between seasons 6 and 7 and is a 'prequel' to the latter, rather than a stand alone movie. It's gonna be on Sky in November. And Robert Carlyle makes an appearance  Suffragette1 02-09-2008, 15:54 It's gonna be on Sky in November. And Robert Carlyle makes an appearance  Well, I shall look forward to it some some reservation. I love 24, I love Jack Bauer & have been hooked from season 1. However, season 6 was a total letdown. Season 5 wasn't much better either.:( That said, thank god they got rid of that annoying Kim, her subplots drove me nuts. I hope she's not coming back into the new season of film demoniac 02-09-2008, 16:12 hope uwe boll is the director  :hihi: Kingmaker2 02-09-2008, 16:53 Apparantly the film is not going to be released in the cinema, but will be a 2 hour special show on Sky. I think originally there were plans to release a big cinema release of 24, I saw Kieffer Sutherland talking about it ages ago. I guess they decided against it, perhaps fearing that a box office flop might harm any future 24 series. I did watch the first series of 24, even though it wasn't really credible. You had Jack Bowers leaving his house driving in his Jeep with no traffic of course, sitting in his meeting with coffee all in the space of 10 minutes!:D After the first series however it all got a bit samey......lots of dialogue, bit of action, then the last minute cliff hanger. |
