We moved to a new house near a busy road at the end of june and last week our poor cat got knocked down and died :(
We thought about getting an indoor cat but have decided to get a small dog instead - what would you choose : king charles cavalier, yorkshire terrier, or ****zhu?

Why not look at getting a rescue? They come in all shapes and sizes and generally speaking have less health problems than the pure breds.

I am keeping an eye on the RSPCA website as I am not adverse to a rescue dog............ do you know of any other rescue places in Sheffield?

You could try rainrescue on here, or the Sheffield dog pound they have some beautiful dogs in there just desperate for a second chance.... in fact there are just loads of rescues about.
Good luck and keep us informed on how you get on with your search :)

Try carlton forest, mosbrough (not sure how thats spelt its near halfway) or thornberry in Dinnington. I get all my dogs from carlton Forest. They are amazing. The owner Nick is lovely. They are reasonably priced, vacinated and you get a voucher to have them spayed. they are also microchipped. Hope you find the perfect pooch soon.
Another thought re rescue dogs - I have a 3 yr old and 12 yr old (child) - I read on another thread that you can't adopt a rescue dog if you have young kids?

Some rescues will let you some won't and a lot would depend upon how your youngest is with animals.
