Hi - am looking to buy spices etc loose preferably to make curry from scratch. So expensive in supermarkets!

Been living abroad and could buy tumeric, fenugreek etc very cheaply

Anyone know anywhere like that in Sheffield?

you could try staniforth road .abbeydale road .pagehall . bestbet i should imagan would be staniforth road just before you get to darnall.

Staniforth Road - lots of Asian shops and you'll get everything you need at good prices - we're off there ourselves now to get some pharatas..................

Try Abbeydale Road there is lots of shops that will meet your needs i went to the one just below Abbeydale Picture house got all the things you mentioned

Try in asian areas. Firth park Pagehall is probably the cheapest place. Netheredge bit expensive.

It's near the junction with Broadfield Road.

I like Pak supermarket on Wellgate in Rotherham. If I am ever Rotherham way I always call. Is quite big, has it's own car park and a large selection of fresh stuff you won't find many places. It's the only place I go for fresh methi leaves, bottle gourd and the okra is cheap. If you are spice shopping it might be worth a one off visit as you shouldn't need to re-supply for months. Other than that the stall in castle market or some small grocers in the firth park rd/page hall road area.

I'd second the Spar on Abbeydale Road (nr picture house). They have all you need, and sometimes the goods in the back, where all the spices are, are cheaper than the same thing in the front .. things like tins of chickpeas. Spices etc there are way cheaper than the supermarkets but come in really big bags!

Page Hall has an excellent shop names Khawaja & Sons (I think that is how it is spelt) they have a long set of shelves totally packed with spices and at very reasonable prices. The also sell carribbean produce and fresh scotch bonnet peppers.

I have even purchased Red carrots in there.
