WOW, we've just found the bug's calming song.

I had had suspicions for a while that she liked this song but have really proven it tonight.

She has not been well for a week or so and although she is getting much better she is now at the stage where she can whinge about not feeling right :(

Anyway we were in the car on the way back from my Mum's and she was very upset, I tried a few things with no change in her pitch of scream, then I put on 'her song' and she was silent within 20 secs and asleep after another 20. Hmm, was this a coincidence? I thought.

So later on this evening she got upset again (she screams when you try and feed her- but she is getting better) anyway I put the song on again; she turned to the stereo and went immediately silent.

my lickle boy hasn't got one, he prefers pitch black and silence!! lol doesnt get it much in our house though.

It was my all time favourite slushy song when I was a kid, and I played it to the bug when I was pregnant with her telling her that this was how much Daddy loved her, so maybe she remembers it from then :love: It is also on her mixed CD that we have in the car along with her nursery rhymes one :)

It really is so amazing the effect it has on her though, really amazing.

I'm going to try and get it on video next time, but she doesn't cry that much fortunately so I shall have to stay on my toes

my daughter is 4 on wednesday and she loves any songs that are in the charts, sings along to them all, its so funny, she knows all the words too!

but i made a montage of them both and showed her and the song makes her cry!! its called 'amazing' not sure who by though. but i never thought a 3 year old would get upset over a slow song bless her, she says she doesnt like it because it makes her thinks sad!! awwwwww

When my eldest was a baby I used to sing either 'tambourine man' or 'sweet child of mine' to her and she'd calm immedietly - or maybe she just went quiet in the hope I'd shut up :hihi:
My youngest loves music, I've currently got a musicals cd in the car and she dances to that, I'm ruining my kids :hihi:

When I was pregnant with my third child (he is now 14) we used to listen to a Belinda Carlisle cd in the car the speaker was right next to my tummy,after he was born the only way to soothe him was to play this cd,it really embarrasses him if you mention it now he is more into Slipknot.

Good grief, I haven't heard that song in years... I think I still have all my old NKOTB vinyl somewhere, I even remember seeing them at the Arena.
One of my girls came to have a look at my pc when I put the clip on but soon left in favour of the Tweenies, I guess it's not to her taste.

EDIT: Just played it for twingle 2 and she sat for 3 minutes of it, very impressed with the video of it which she clearly doesn't recall from being placated with it for months and months :)
