I am thinking of getting a water diverter and tank to save the water from the gutters. The thing is that the down pipe is also collecting water from the bath and bathroom sink (although not the toilet!)

My question is: If I do this will the tank start to collect residue and start smelling?

your going to need to filter it some how some sort of carbon based filter to lower the odour
