Thanks. fnkysknky 04-05-2005, 06:40 Doors & Floors Galore @ Attercliffe - good range, they'll only sell you the amount of underlay you need and they'll take back unopened packs if you have too much. As for fitting then feel free to give us a call - I'm happy to pick the stuff up for you. Jody SnailyBoy 04-05-2005, 10:32 Avoid WWF (Wholesale Wooden Floors). They will not allow you to take back any surplus even when the packs are sealed. They quote chapter and verse the Sales of Goods Act even though stores such as Wickes, B+Q, Homebase will always refund on surplus purchases. If you eventually speak to the area manager and argue the case they will accept returns, subject to a 25% restocking fee! Apprently the 25% charge is a goodwill gesture and not the daylight robbery it would appear to be. blagtastic 04-05-2005, 10:46 We got a really good deal from B&Q a few months ago on some aqua lock laminate. With regards to fitting, it really isn't that difficult to do it your self. I'd never done it before and I'm not the keenest DIYer in the world. I layed our 5m x3m kitchen in an afternoon. Most laminate has a click lock system so it all just clip together. nick2 04-05-2005, 10:56 "Floors To Go" in Heeley is ok, the guys who work there are realy helpfull. For cheapness, try "No Frills DIY" near the bottom of Granville Road. Don_Kiddick 04-05-2005, 17:21 There appears to be a new flooring shop opening on Carbrook Hall road opposite Tinsley Wire (used to be Shedlands or summink). Don't know if they just stocking up or are open yet but it 'looked' open today :) PINGU 07-05-2005, 15:23 Thanks for the help people. Much appreciated. desy 07-05-2005, 16:37 Good quality laminated oak flooring next to Princess Royal at Woodhouse Mill. In place that sells stone. Rich 07-05-2005, 16:56 Try the WWF shop on Penistone Road (nothing to do with wrestling or wildlife preservation, just has the initials WWF), apparently they sell relatively cheap flooring. It's about halfway up Penistone Road going from the Hillsborough end, not far from the B&Q. coopster1974 07-05-2005, 16:59 When you find the flooring you're after, make a note of the name and buy it off t'internet. I've priced some up and stand to save £900 Billy24 07-05-2005, 20:15 I'm planning to have a new wooden floor in my conservatory shortly, i'm considering having a real wood floor laid instead of a laminated one, ... can anyone explain to me the main differences between laminate and real wood ... what would I be gaining by paying the extra money on a proper wooden floor. Also does anyone have a heated wooden floor and if so can you explain how it all works and what cost it is to run. Finally, can you suggest the best shop or store to buy it all, oh, and a good fitter as well. desy 07-05-2005, 21:02 TRy previous mention at Woodhouse not your thin crap about half inch thick stevo999 08-05-2009, 08:15 i got my laminate from a company called flawless floors great service price brought samples to my house would recomend them 01142349555 /o7961918992 jsmith2009 08-05-2009, 20:26 hi just pm you ta jeff would be happy to give you free advice . i,m reliable and tidy dragon32 14-05-2010, 12:06 Any body got laminate flooring for less then 3.99 sq mtr spongebobdeb 14-05-2010, 12:15 i have always been pleased with floors to go. i have five rooms that look very nice, and the service was top quality. Bonjon 14-05-2010, 13:19 I recentley bought some from Homebase, 7.99sqm great stuff, easy to fit, and it the textured stuff that feels like real wood, very hard to tell the difference. sillysausage 15-05-2010, 11:11 floors to go i think its called on penistone road mummysaz21 15-05-2010, 11:22 floors to 2 got mine 2 days ago for living room and with everything else it cost 140, also have a jpiner fitting it doing a great job as we speak hghly reccomend himxx hparkes 15-05-2010, 20:11 I can recommend Quick Step laminate flooring (they have a website). I've just had it all through the downstairs of my house. Very good quality flooring. I had the perspective 4 which has the 4 grooves. I got it from Topps Tiles on Meadowhall Road. They don't stock it but can get it for you at a very good price and in a couple of days - I phoned round most places in Sheffield and this was the cheapest I could get Quick Step. Speak to Tom, Assitant Manager. As far as fitting is concerned, Phil Greenwood fitted mine 07729625901 and made an excellent job of it. Darth Vader 16-05-2010, 01:37 It depends how much you want to spend. If you want cheap flooring, then I don't think you can beat Wickes for value. Legally he's completely correct - there's no legal obligation to refund anything unless its faulty or not fit for purpose - whether its a good commercial move is obviously another matter... |
