The Single Payment Scheme (SPS) replaces the Common Agricultural Policy and now pays farmers for the land they own, not what they produce.

The European Directive on agricultural subsidies does not prohibit motor sports on land eligible for SPS.

However, the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has taken the decision, without consultation, to stop these payments to UK landowners if agricultural land is used, even temporarily, for motor sport.

Please could I ask a favour and ask you to sign this and pass it on, save our sport, http://www.petitiononline.com/som/

DEFRA are having serious effects on all types of Motorsport, DON'T LET IT
HAPPEN!

I won't be signing it.
Why should I vote to waste my taxes.
If you can't get by in your current job then change it and do a job I don't have to subsidise.

Well done DEFRA, I say. Either stopping farmers from getting unearned dosh or stopping noisy motor 'sporters' spoiling the countryside. Now that's what I call a win win situation.

Are you stupid ?

You have completely missed the point here, it's not about farmers.

So an infringement on some peoples interests is a good thing is it ?

This goes a little further than some asbo riding illegally on a stolen bike in the local field you know.

And here was me thinking that the world is big enough for us all to live in

:help:
