Pauline,

I went to Crookesmoor School! I was football mad! I played at football with Brian and Don Cardwell on many occasions, also with George Stirling, Bill Turner, etc.,etc. I will not say who I am just yet, but I will make him guess !
When we played in the Sheffield 16 - 18 League years ago, we were a new young team, and we came up against the, then, Sheffield United Junior 'Feeder' side - a team called Oaks Fold. Since we were all Wednesday-ites, it was like 'red rag to a bull'. That Saturday evening, the league results, as reported in the 'Green Un' stated that we had won by 19 goals to 1 !!!
In fact we had lost by 2 - 1 ( although we did win 4 - 2 later in the season ).
The 'Green Un' result was a prank ! reported in by 2 of our players. I wasn't one them. Ask Brian who the guilty pair were. We all had a good laugh about it. I lived in Burlington Street.( Don't be fooled by the registry name - it is not significant ).
