Try the Rutland Hotel in Broomhill. Also try and haggle for a price with the Manager say you have been offered a better price elsewhere and say you'll come back. He should lower the price for you.

Problem at the moment is the Snooker championships. Most places will be booked up. Why not try somewhere further out (eg Travelodge (?) near Meadowhall)and pay for a taxi?

Have you tried the Hillsborough Hotel

if it's really bad then theres a travel lodge up the motorway at junc 30, taxi would be around £20/£30 to get back to it though, or stay up all night and get the bus back in the morning.
