By a Rabbit?

I was most unfortunate the other day whilst stroking little flopsy he decided to take a good proportion out of my left leg. It was shortly followed by large amounts of swearing.

So in all I have been bitten now by: 2 snakes, 6 dogs, a gerbil, a hamster, 1 girl and a goldfish.

Anyone else feel they are being picked on by nature?

OK maybe the goldfish bit was exaggerating a little.

I have been smitten several times but not bitten (I on reflection I think being bitten would have been a lot less painful, both emotionally and also financially!).

Had a massive collection of Arachnids but never had a bite ever. Did get a few reptile bites though, snakes, alligator snappers and lizards.
Been nipped by dogs but never had a real bite.
Once got bit by a Goth but this is a family forum.

Ive been bitten twice by horses, one bit me on my arm when I was seven and left a nasty bruise and another horse bit me on my boob while on holiday in Tenerife when I was pregnant with my son.

Thing is I love horses and wish I knew why they bit me.

I was once bitten by a hamster I was looking after and it bl**dy hurt. His teeth went very deep into my poor thumb.

The same thumb was also the victim of a horse. I was feeding it some of my Crunchie but I didn't get my thumb tucked away enough and the ungratefull s*d got hold of my thumb and would not let go. I thought it had crushed it but it just swelled up and throbbed a lot.

When I was a kid I was bitten by my pet rabbit.

In recent years I've been nipped by various cats.

When in Alaska some years ago I was accosted by a large mosquito that managed to latch on to a vein in the back of my hand. I was busy changing a tyre for someone at the time and only noticed when I saw it swollen up to the size of a small pea with my blood.

That was the point at which I flicked it off. Apart from the mess it left part of the head in the wound and for a couple of days I was wondering whether I was going to get something nasty.

I was also stung / bitten / whatever by some wood ants some years back. They smarted.

And cat fleas. Ooodles of cat flea bites.

Joe :)

Never been bitten by a dog or cat. Was snapped at once by a horse, but it missed me!

Was bitten by a former boyfriend's pet baby alligator. I was encouraged to pick up the critter after being assured that it wouldn't bite.

It opened a 1 inch gash on my index finger that bled for an eternity. Their little teeth are razor sharp, and these animals DO NOT make good pets. Most people give no thought as to how they'll cope with it when it starts getting big.

It's also illegal to own, but that doesn't prevent some people from getting one.

My 7 stone GSD was having an epileptic fit one night & I ran downstairs buck naked to see what the commotion was.

I must have startled him & jumped up & bit my wrist

 phew!

But the puncture wound was right over my radial artery & I bled like a fountain :o

It was about 1960ish. They took me to the first aid post, and the woman in charge said, "You shouldn't have got so close."

I had teeth marks in the back and front of my shoulder - it lifted me off the ground!! If I remember correctly, my dad punched it in the nose after it let go:thumbsup:

I was walking my new (had him a week) pet rabbit today on his lead, which attmittedly he doesnt seem to be very fond of, when he started charging at my legs and biting me. Didnt really understand it - was it the lead? was it the heat of the day making his blood boil? was he defending the territory of the garden against me? - or was he play fighting? He was friendly again later in the day, and thankfully his run arrived and I need ever use the lead again.

Been bit more than enough times by my dog, shes calmed down alot now though, friends hamsters many times and a spider once which had somehow got on my belly :gag: it hurt and i hate spiders!

Once an evil hamster bit my finger - they have really pointy teeth!

You gotta watch out for bunnies, my ex's rabbit nibbled at my friend's shoe which I had borrowed for the night, causing one of the little straps to break.

To this day, my friend still does not believe me that the animal broke it! She is convinced that I fell over or something and just blamed an innocent bunny!

well "Nar then" yes you can say it goes with the job but i have been on the wrong end of 2 dog attacks (there love the taste of Postie in the morning)

First one a bit of a shocker...got bit by a 3 legged dog when i was on a Royal mail bike....(hide's head in shame at that one)

And the second was some big beast off a dog who came out of no where jumpped up on me and pinned me down and took a nice portion of my leg to boot..

Only down side of the story beeing that i could have had them both put down....but i love dog's so i dident  :D

and of cause when i had a hamster as much as i loved him at the time, only love he showed me was by taking a chunk out my finger

and then the time i got "2 Male" Minature Hamsters that after a short time turned in to 18 minature hamsters  all of them wanted a bit of my finguers.

Apart from that bite im free :D

I once got my ear pierced by a jack russel! Also been bitten by Hamsters, don't put your finger in the cage and point and them, they REALLY don't like it. I gpt bitten by a horse as I fed it an apple once. The most painful bite I've ever had though has got to be from a goose, that did hurt!

I was bitten by my pet ferret!!! The little sod was walking backwards on top of its hut whilst I was cleaning it out and run out of space thus falling on to the floor. Now if anyone has owned a ferret they will know how emotional these critters can be; well it cried its eyes out so I went to pick him up to stroke him better but the little blighter just sunk his nashers right in to my finger - man it hurt and it made me realise what Richard Whitely must've felt :hihi:

I was once bitten on the hand by a boyfriend's jack russel. It latched on and wouldn't let go. i pulled my arm up and the dog was just hanging in mid air, with my hand in its teeth. I started swinging it from side to side and it still hung on. I could have swung it round the room like a lassoo. The boyfriend appeared unconcerned at my mutilation by his best friend. Soon after retrieving my limb at great physical expense, the boyfriend was an ex.

One single argument emerges from all these varied, horrifying accounts- the animal kingdom in general [mammals, reptiles, birds etc] presents a danger to human life and limb. Perhaps they secretly despise us, and what we put down to 'accidents' are really calculated attempts to upset and humiliate, even maim and disfigure us? I have never been bitten, but I have recently been quite deliberately defacated upon by pigeons.

Feral, actually Don. They seemed to relish my distress and disgust too. Mind you, old fruit, the worst was at Chatsworth recently. bit by a cat whilst holding it still for the vet.
bit by russian hamsters - several times.
once by a chipmonk.
at least twice this year by our horses.
numerous times by the dogs over the years.
once by a kestrel - well pecked anyway.
untold times by fleas & ticks.
and a few times during moments of passionate exercise.

yes quite a few times and even with rabbits when i use to breed them the does was the ones who always went for you, the bucks would try to bite but not as bad as the does do. my german shepherd dog once went for me and got hold of the back of my leg I needed 25 stiches in the back of my leg when he let go, he was put down that same day i have been bitten many a time with dogs you just get use to it, I caught my girlfriend trying to bite my neck late one night she had just been sweeping out her crypt where she sleeps, it is a good job she is not sat here reading this otherwise I could be suffering from a bad head ache.
