It's official.Lance Armstrong cancer surviver,6 times tour de france champion, youngest ever world champion, has annouced that after this years tour he will retire.
I thought that he would...i hope he goes out on a high and wins this tour,as you are always remembered for your last race as for your first..
I for one will miss his fantastic attacks on the french mountains, and the way he could outclass the best climbers in the world, even Pantani couldnt live with him on his day.I will be there in Paris at the end of the tour to see him win his 7th straight win.
The tour won't be the same again....GO LANCE..!!!!

Hasn't he said he would retire before though, but then carried on

I think this time it`s for real.

If you look at him, he is happy with himself and life and I don`t think he has the passion to win.
Just wants a life and not with cycling races and being away from home.

Just thought id bump this up to the top!!

For all us cycling fans the big day is nearly up on us!!
I'm still tipping Lance especially after watching a progamme about him last night on "discovery" channell.
My tip for the opening time trial..the man himself..Lance

Lance to retire, it's old news. Big Disco press conference was on April 18 to announce it.
