I have been playing all80sradio.com via Windows Media Player. Recently, there was a massive set of updates from Microsoft and ever since then Windows Media Player will not connect to all80sradio.com.

It gives no indication why this would be (trust Microsoft programmers to identify a fault, but give no help as to how to cure the fault!).

Anyone got any idea what might be causing the problem?

Hmm, my Windows Media Player insists I'm low on memory now.

Which I'm not.

Rebooted and tried again with nowt running at all (apart from normal backgound services) - same error.

It's ok when playing local content, just doesn't like the all80sradio stuff (don't know any other sites to try).

Looks like something may have got busted in that last round of updates.

I think its THEM,when i goto it it says it cant find the stream..

Thanks for info - I get/got no sensible error message. It just says (paraphrasing) 'the codec could be wrong or this or that or something else'. It then suggests visiting MS help, which (surprise, surprise) is not very helpful.

A bit like 'it could be many things or something we don't know about'.

Tried using Media Player, Media Monkey and Real Player and all failed. Also tried to update the Free Real Player and the server said it did not exist!

I have not installed the latest MS updates - in fact not updated since SP3 came out so can't be that. May be the site is down??

I know - it's been back a while. I've actually found another site - www.last.fm - lets you play music 'like' certain artists. Try it out - it's free
