I am just in the process of buying a business leasehold, do i really need all the searches? Surely if anything was a miss with the structure it would be down to the landlord to rectify. Can anyone please advise.

Ideally you need your solicitor to look through the lease and confirm what is your responsiblility and what is your landlords.

I took over a full repairing lease, in which i was responsible for the WHOLE building. I wasnt even advised to do surveys, but i would highly recommend one, My roof is now leakin and the guttering needs replacing one month after taking it over. I struggle to smile at my landlord as he drives by in his Jag each morning!!
