I thought Barnsley was known as the "Laik" District.

People from Barnsley have always been called "Barnsley Buggers"
Which was originally "them buggers frum Barnsley"
I imagine it's something to do with barnsley men having large sideburns.

Cousins - a few years ago Barnsley had the highest proportion of birth defects due to inbreeding than any other area.
