An article in Aug 16's Star informs of a Nether Edge GS reunion for those in Class 5 in 1958 - the year the school closed - hence 50 years on!
The meeting is on Wednesday August 20 from 5pm at the Mercure St.Pauls Bar in the city centre. Those interested contact John on 01484-665090

It became Abbeydale Boys' Grammar School - Hastings Road site, Millhouses.
I must have got it wrong somewhere over the years but, I always thought that Brincliffe Grammar School (closed in 1965) was in the building of the former Nether Edge GS.
The building has now been converted into apartments I believe.

I thought so. I remember Mr.Spinks very well, like all (or nearly all!) staff of Brincliffe he was very fair, strict, and respected by staff and pupils alike. Mr. Hill was a typical "Mr.Chips" and didn't enjoy handing out punishment.
I recall that there was a Brincliffe re-union in 1993, there may have been more since.
