I like lots of Blades were in a strange place last week, Wednesday had just won the Champions League (or so you would have thought listen to a number of Wednesday fans) and they were going to walk the Championship with the best defence in the League - :loopy:

Anyway i'm pleased to say normal service has been resumed and things seem to be back to normal (well normalish - there does seem to be a mass mobile phone failure amongst those who follow Wednesday many of whom i've not heard from in the last 8yrs who were texting me last week - maybe the network coverage isn't very good in the woodwork they've all crawled back into  )

a wednesday fan sent me a text last week after 4 minutes of their game , it said , "want to borrow a striker ?" no text this week so I sent him one "want to borrow a goalie " , his reply was " a bricklayer is what we need to build a wall in the goal ".
listening to the wednesday match on radio the goalie had a good game and saved wednesday more misery .

I do think ones ambitions need to be kept under control.

Wednesdays dream start, and (more importantly) assault on the Title, appears to have come to a shuddering halt 45 games from the end of the season.

And to think bulldog was bragging last week of how they were going to win the league...lol

You see moments like this is where sensible wed fans are ok to reply because they kept a level head about it.

Well spotted Heyesey. They live on a different planet. We all knew it wouldn't last and I think everyone of us conceded it. They hate to see us do ok and if we do it's they who rant on like maniacs

right then, why dont you blades actually have a look through the posts that wednesday fans have put and tell me how many owls said we would walk the league and we have the best defense in the league, bet you will find very few, if any. i might of said it was 1 of the better defences in the league(might be changing that thought now) but i never said it was the best and i dont remember seeing any others that did.

Well, to be fair, it's no worse than when lots of Owls were insisting that Blades had said that they didn't deserve relegation from the PM.
Don't think that one Blades poster expressed that opinion but the myth persisted for months.
Swings and roundabouts, I think.
Some people read what they want to see with no regards for the actual facts.

Think Owls will finish top 10!!with a fully fit squad we have a great set of players, and the defence is one of best in the championship!!

yes, 1 of the best, not the best. we had the 8th best in the league last season so it's not a bad defence, well it wasnt anyway not so sure now

I would rather play one of our reserve defenders than have Chris Morgan in my defence, he is 1 big donkey that lad.

behave yourself.

Morgan is a great captain and a great leader.

He might lack in some departments but makes up for it with his 100% attitude and never say die approach.

I'm very surprised you wouldn't want a Morgan type player in your team but to say you'd rather have one of your reserves in the team is ludicrous.

Don't know what brought that on but it seems to me that one of your posters spoke about the Owls playing with passion.
Well. nobody can accuse Morgan of not playing with passion and he gives no quarter nor expects any back.
Doesn't complain but does his job to the best of his ability each and every game.
He's not the best player around but he could play in my team anytime.:thumbsup:

I agree with you both about the 100% thing, but surely if you want to seriously challenge for the league you will need some1 better than him, i hear quite a few of my united m8s mentioning him making plenty of mistakes and has to use his physical presence a lot to get himself out of situations, i might be wrong i don't see him play as much as you lot, if im honest i don't think Mark Beevers is as good as people are reckoning.

Well we've been promoted with him and he had a great season in the PL so he'll do for me.

You're right about some Blades fans not rating him too highly but we've got a skillful defender in Killgallon and a hard case in Morgan, they compliment each other well.

Morgan has become prone to the odd mistake over the last season or so and he does worry me when he gets frustrated and the red mist comes down but for a few faults he does give the team a hell of a lot.

Saying all that Ugo played an absolute stormer when he came on yesterday, if you saw the Championship this morning you will have seen the tackle of the season when Blackstock had a clear shot on goal, i was amazed at the time and even more amazed when i saw it on the box this morning.

Yeah fair doe's that was a goal saving challenge.
What do you reckon to Preston n Coventry having a 100% start there not the two clubs people would have predicted to be up there, do you think they could sustain there challenges?
Coventry look a good outside bet they have got a decent squad and a good manager in Chris Coleman, i also fancy Bristol City again me.

You sad, bitter little porklet.

Maybe if he was in your defence a 4-1 drubbing at Wolves may have been avoided.

Judging by Laws post match reaction he'd swap half of your team for Morgan.

Do we actually have any reserve defenders left?! With Hinds out now that leaves us with Wood, Beevers, Spurr, Watson, Gilbert (God no) and a bunch of kids who are nowhere near ready for the first team.

I think I'd take Morgan!

Its not time yet although i did pull 60 quid for a 2-0 win for Ebbsfleet tonight, they were a great price at 100/30, there a pretty decent side i might have to keep an eye on them in the next fortnight or so.
