:wow:

Anyone seen this news item?

There's a video link on the BBC's news page - (dial up's beware) (http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/avdb/news_web/video/9012da68000a8d0/bb/09012da68000ab8b_bb_16x9.asx)

If you bother to watch it can anyone explain to me how the car has ended up buried that far up the wall of the house?

There's no discernable incline for the car to have taken off from (see the view from about 1min10sec into the clip)?

I would make some sarcy crack about BMW drivers being the best, but it seems the driver's in ICU, so I hope he pulls through.

 yeah I get your point there Ginner...no reason for it to just suddenly 'take off'!!

How strange :suspect:

From the pictures on the news story (not the video) there is a small incline just below the fence. If the car had hit that with enough speed, and possibly one of the fence posts, it could have 'bounced'. To get as high as that, though, it must have been doing some insane speed. I can't imagine it doing less than 100mph when it left the road to bounce that high off such a small bump.
