Could anyone recommend a good broadband services in Crookesmoor area? I often use it for internet phone call, MSN, etc. So prefer 512K or above.

Want to use Telewest that I finally found out not available in that area. BT seems a bit expensive...... so still any good stuffs I can try? and how much is it? Thanks

We're not far from Crookesmoor and we use Bulldog's 4 Meg broadband for £19.50 per month. http://www.bulldogbroadband.com/

sheffied based plusnet are about the best i found when looking. Their new fair usage policy means that all users get max speed broadband (4-8mb depending on region) and you get restricted only if you hammer the bandwidth in peak hours. As long as you download things overnight and just use normal internet, Ip phoone etc. through the day you'kll never run into any problems.

As above, especially if you are a light user, plusnet have some very attractive packages, and now do 2MB unlimited for £21.99 a month.

Had a couple of different providers in the last 4 years and Plusnet, despite some shortcomings, are stll heads above the rest I have used (BT, Pipex)

Thanks everyone...

Does anyone try ntl? I checked with Teleswest for its broadband service in Crookesmoor and they referred me to ntl. Is it good and worth money? Seems with attractive package too.

Hi, we use Dcomms for our broadband. Basic, but cheap, with a 1 month contract.

Hi Manchao, I think that the cable packages - NTL and Telewest - are only good value if you have broadband, phone and TV from them. So if you want to have the cable TV channels too you should look at NTL. Otherwise go with Plusnet or one of the others mentioned.

I don't think NTL will provide service in crookesmoor... i may be wrong, but i think if Telewest don't service your postcode, they refer you to NTL whether they offer service or not.

If you can get NTL there broadband service isn't great, but the rest of the options (phone & TV) are much better than telewest im led to believe.
