Looking at a few properties on richmond road and stradbroke area.

Are these areas good for families?


Prices don't seem too bad (good or maybe bad thing?) hmm.

any help appreciated.

WHERE ON STRAD/RICHMOND ARE YOU LOOKING?

AND WHERE ARE YOU LIVING NOW?

Lived on Stradbroke from the age of 4 up until the age of 19, moved away unfortunately when i bought my own house. Parents still have a house on Stradbroke and my sis also lives there.

The area is ok, pretty much like any other area really.

I am lookng at houses actually on richmond road and a development of new build houses which are just off richmond road, Highgrove i think its called.

that area is quite desirable, according to the Sheffield Council's property shop, the waiting times for houses on the Stradbroke estate is 15 years.
My mum lives on the Stradbroke area and it's quite hard to get a council house on there ;) but it has the same highs and lows as any estate, just not been known as an estate classed as a "rough" one.

Richmond is nice, its where my Parents live. They live on a quiet cul-de-sac just off Richmond Road. You want to avoid Hastiler (sp) Road as it's on the woodthorpe estate (council) and isn't as nice as Hastiler Road south, which is over the road and is predominantly private (if not all private...)

The new development is nice, but just behind you is the woodthorpe estate and the manor too. I don't want to offend anyone who lives there but being next door to the manor will increase your insurance premiums and whatnot, for obvious reasons.

It's quite a nice area. Not rough and good for transport, depending on exactly where you live.

Ive recently moved to Richmond and on the HighGrove development.

Nice and quiet with no trouble so far......

Easy to get to the Parkway and Asda etc.

Also there are some shops on Richmond road including a Co-op.

Soon to be sold hopefully, also drive around in company vans.
