Hi, I wonder if anyone could help. My car is due for its MOT very soon. Does anyone know a good place to get it done? My Dad usually helps me out be hes away. Do you know somewhere that wont rip me off, find faults that aren't there etc?

Much appreciated.

Zip.

Your post came up when I was searching for exactly the same question. I found what I wanted here: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?postid=311590#post311590

Thanks for that. I forget to mention that i'd prefer a garage near Hillsborough, Chapeltown way though. I was thinking of Charlie Browns, does anyone know if they are good?

Thanks

For a good honest Mot Try Dave Woodouse on Broadfield Road,
Alternatively try the DOT test centre near the bus garage off East Bank Road, These don't do repairs and therefore aren't chasing for the repair work

Try Mark Pearce in Attercliffe and mention my name.

Burton Street Motors off langsett/Penistone Rd have always been very good with us, reasonably priced & reliable.

As I've mentioned on a previous thread, DT Autos on Rutland road. They can do everything 'in house', including welding, so you don't need to be running about. When I last had mine in he got it up on the ramps and talked me through everything that was wrong, demonstrated and explained what he was going to do to fix it. Definitely better than the old 'suck through the teeth' and a hefty bill you get at some places!

I can recommend Ghia Garage on Penistone Road, at Law Bros roundabout. Always had good service.

i have always been told to go to mot centres that only test the cars so they are not finding faults that are not there... i have been to charlie browns before though for some work and they were really helpful

Theres a bloke who sits in the corner at the Shakespear who writes them out for a tenner.
His name is Gay. just go up to him and ask if he's Gay.
