I've just recived two emails from a company called LaSalle Bank asking me to confirm by customer online banking acount.

I don't have a LaSalle Bank account ( never even heard of them ).

They've given me a link to their website where they ask for an account name and password.

Their is a link if you don't have these details.

Obviously I have'nt gone no where near it and I'm not going to be giving them any details.

My question is :
are they just fishing for people to sign up for accounts or is it something more sinister where someone as got hold of my details and has opened a account with them.

I have just recently had some spyware on my PC so I'm a bit concerned.

Anyone heard of them?

Right, a quick google search revield that their is a LaSalle Bank, but their is someone out their at the moment doing a fishing scam with a mock LaSalle website and emails.

If you recieve one ignore it.

Can ayone put my mind at rest and tell me wether I might have jeprdised my self by even going to the website, even though I did'nt put any details in.

since you don't have an account with them and didn't put in any details they haven't got any information from you.

It's possible but unlikely that they have some exploit code on the site, run your spyware detector software just to be sure.

And never visit a link from an unsolicited email.
