I'm looking to hire a hall for a dog training class once or twice a week (most likely twice if I find one!)
Originally my main criterion was a relatively low charge because I wanted to keep the costs down for the 'students' taking up the course but now my only criterion is finding somewhere that will allow dogs!
Can anyone throw some hall names at me? I seem to have exhausted the list online and am running short of ideas now... I could do with having access to running water for a drinks bowl and cleaning up after class but if I have to take my own water I have to take my own! The main thing is, somewhere indoors where they will allow dogs and is big enough for half a dozen dogs and their owners!
Any ideas??

Hi Lotti. What area are you looking for?
I'm guessing most places won't allow dogs on the grounds that there might be mess to clear up. Have you considered looking for an outside space where you could train?
I have considered it but we're talking basic obedience and puppy classes so I'm trying to minimise the distractions otherwise training is futile (yes, they need to work with distractions eventually but not when first teaching them something).
Also with us having the fantastic British weather and winter coming up people will be more inclined to go to an indoor class than outside.
Also some of my clients will be disabled dog owners and unable to stand for long or sit outside if it's cold/raining.
It's a shame because I will be fully insured and will be leaving the hall exactly as I find it (if not tidier!) but it's still against health and safety for a lot of places because they have children's groups in on a different day. Some have said their rooms are carpetted which I can totally understand makes it impossible because I can't be sure there will be no accidents (plus... muddy pawprints...)
What area of Sheffield? It really matters little. Preferably around S6/7/8/10 because I'm already located around these areas generally but can travel if need be and I know most of the people already interested in the classes can travel.

Contact local schools, most will have a assembly hall / gymnasium, most will need the additional funds.
Thanks GrinderBloke I tried a couple of schools but didn't hear back and figured they would have the same health and safety implications.
I've found a hall! Been to see it tonight and there are two, both of which are perfect!

Have you contacted ZEST on 2011490?
We do hire out rooms and I know they have a hall but you should check with them about the dogs.
Thanks espadrille I never thought to ask ZEST - just assumed they wouldn't allow dogs. I have one now, thanks :D
