That's really good news.
I was thinking that I should ask, and pop in if you only had till end of month - would be rude not to. Now we'll have to pop in because YOUR not going yet.

Yeah, good news! :partyhat: Does this mean you'll also be left alone by the council monitoring the noise levels and stuff? Are you still going to hunt for somewhere else or are you too happy at the moment to think about that?!

Congrats C. Maybe we can hold the 'Funke' meet there on the 6th.

I know you are very able - are you willing?:)

Wow! Thanks for that guys and gals!

OK, one at a time.....

Beer: John Smiths Smooth, Barnsley Bitter (real ale) and Magnet
Lager: Miller, Carling, Fosters, Heinekin Export, Kronenbourg, Stella

Licence: We just have to sound proof the roof and we should be able to get the bands back on - approx 2 months I'd have thought.

Meets: More than willing and able to host you all again for the meets. That of course is up the majority if you would like to come along to my humble abode.

Still looking for another pub, but not as urgent now.....keep adding to that other post.

Hey I was down the CLASSIC ROCK BAR Friday night, what a great vibe and music. FAR FAR BETTER than the trendy townie bars on Ecclesall Road, blows the POMANA, VARSITY, CHAMPS, NURSERY TAVERN, PORTER BROOK, NONNA's, into the WEEDS!!!!

Why dont students go in, dont students like rock music any more. When I was a student, etc, etc......

More classic rock bars in Sheffield please. In fact, I might just open one myself next year......

We have the weeds to blow them into, although our Mick promises to do the weeding this weekend!

hey, you cant beat a bit of green growth outside your bar!!! I think, personally, if I had a pub in this road, I would defy all the odds and make it look dark, dingy, overgrown and totally out of character with the rest of the "yuppie" status of this road. That would really annoy the posh bars.

Have you ever experienced a night in Nonna's or Champs?? I would rather bend my fingernails backwards and snap them off slowly, one by one. I would even consider sipping a pint of warm watered down *export* lager in certain other establishments, no names mentioned but there are lots on Ecclesall road. I would perhaps prepare for a night surrounded by lager swilling football chanting short sleeved shirt singing ****** up short haired students. I would rather listen to a Westlife album!!
No, hang on, that is going too extreme......

Oh, classic rock, a CLASS pint of ale you serve. Nice to taste a pint that is actually well kept and not " we dont care if its warm or watery or our pumps are full of cleaning fluid" kinda thing.

PS Say hi to DJ Les. We used to work together you know at Roxy, oh some years ago......well, a few.

May I suggest a cask or two of more local produced real ale products?
