View Full Version : Best chase in a film?
PinkJo 11-08-2008, 10:05 PM I was wondering what everyones favourite chase is in a film, be it car, boat, spaceship, on foot?
A couple of mine are....
1. Neo being chased by Agent Smith on foot in the Matrix
2. Car chase in Ronin
3. Car chase in Bourne Identity

North by Northwest Cary Grant's plane scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g458w2X9uHc)
Mills chases John Doe - Brad Pitt actually injured himself doing this scene for real (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXuK0b_yM5M)
jezzyjj 12-08-2008, 04:26 AM The stunning foot chase that opens the 2007 'Casino Royale', probably the best Bond [chase] sequence ever.
The car chase in 'Bellman + True', a little known but quite exceptional film. The film that made me understand what the term 'edge of seat suspense' really meant.
panda79 12-08-2008, 07:17 AM got to be the one in the blues brothers:)
Hecate 12-08-2008, 06:54 PM The parallel good guy/bad guy downhill high speed run through the hillside drug factories in Bad Boys II, and the boat-dodging, car-flipping road sequence in the same film.
jezzyjj 12-08-2008, 07:17 PM The BadBoys II chase through the factories is simply a copy of a more impressive Jackie Chan film sequence from 1985. A common tactic in hollywood.
The Crane chase/street demolition in Terminator 3 is similarly very impressive in it's sheer destruction. Especially as it also appears to be done for 'real', i.e. no CGI.

Don't care, it was still fantastic :D . It also had the added bonus that I didn't have to sit through several interminable hours of martial arts nonsense to get to it.
EdnaKrabappe 12-08-2008, 08:02 PM The chase in Wanted, the current James McAvoy film is pretty good.
I can never remember car ones.
Alastair 12-08-2008, 08:07 PM Mad Max 1 or Mad Max 2 - any of the chases.

It also had the added bonus that I didn't have to sit through several interminable hours of martial arts nonsense to get to it.It was the opening scene I believe and instead you had to sit through a very weak, poorly scripted and genarally dreadful sequel to see an inferior copy of something quite original. It's not so fantastic if you saw something better many years before.

You're still annoyed from the 'what films don't you want to see?' thread, aren't you? :hihi:
jezzyjj 12-08-2008, 08:27 PM That's a very foolish assumption. The facts about bad Boys II and my opinions about the film are nothing to do with that thread.

discodown 14-08-2008, 07:37 PM Surely the foot chase in Point Break should get a mention?
