Hi people,
Im getting a Wii this week and just wonder what comes in the box. Does it come with a HDMI cable? do all the kits come with at least 1 game?

All packaged with wii sports ... only way to connect to your TV in HD is to use component lead (not supplied).

You can prob pick up a decent deal if you shop around and get a couple of games bundled in.

"The Wii doesn't have the compatability the save games onto the SD card yet, but as far as i'm concerned, the internal memory is fine for saving games. So what's the purpose of the slot? At the moment, it is best used for taking SD cards from your Digi Camera, and viewing them on TV in a matter of seconds. Brilliant as far as i'm concerned! So really, their is little need to buy a seperate blank one unless you intend on currently:
-Backing up your Wii Channels
-Backing up saved games
-Storing MP3 files to play during games (such as Excite Truck)
-Taking photos off your PC to play on the Wii (if you have an SD card reader on your PC)

Thats it really, any other use (photo's for example) will come from an existing SD card. Plus, Nintendo have already stated that the USB ports on the back of the console may provide an outlet for USB drive compatability... and since their easier/more common, you may as well save your money since these aren't crucial right now! In the box youll get the console itself, a stand for it to sit up on its side in, 1 remote, 1 nunchuck, batteries for the remote, the sensor bar, a stand for the sensor bar, an AV cable, Scart adaptor for the AV cable, power supply, and Wii sports. The component cable is sold seperately, I got one for a tenner from Maplin, as are additional controllers. Memory card wise, any bog standard SD card will work, but you dont really need one, as the wii has its own internal memory.

The Wii isn't HD, but by using a component cable, the picture will be much better than using the supplied AV cable.

There is an option within the Wii's settings to output it in a slightly better resolution for HDTV's, but it still looks very grainy compared to the XB360 and PS3.
