Does anyone know of any shops/Department stores etc that stock Wedding Gowns/Dresses for us larger ladies (20+)to try on please.

Thanks for that Strix, I've seen a few designs/styles i like, but really want to try some on, to get an idea of which styles etc i suit me better.

So if anyone knows of and where we larger ladies can try gowns on please let me know.

I tried a size 22 dress on at Francesca bridals in town, opposite Primark. I've also heard very good things about a shop in the Wakefield area which is dedicated purely to 'bigger' brides!! http://www.thebigdayuk.com/

Linda does have stock in her shop (presumably for rental), so when I went to discuss design with her I wound up adorned in a denim corset with broderie anglais trim several sizes too large but bunched up at the back, a baby blue satin skirt (to identify length etc) and one massively hideous yellow snakeskin boot that laces up the side

well I knew what the real one was going to look like :P

I've got mine from The Big Day in Castleford. I'm anywhere between a 22 and a 26 and they had loads I could try on, even some that were far too big. The ladies that work there are very helpful too.

La bella Bridals in chapletown specialise in larger sizes (the have larger sizes off the peg too!!)

Cathy the owner is fantastic & all the staff are lovely really easy to get on with & wont presurise you into anything, they're in the yellow pages & also online!

Thank you for that, craftcardy had also pm'd me they do large sizes, so definatly intend on going in very soon to try some styles out.:)

Evans online have a selection of wedding dresses that may be ok.
