You can order replacement recovery cd's from http://www.best2serve.com/?show_flow=RCD&land=GB&lang=en , I don't think your going to be able to download HP recovery cd's unless someone has an exact copy that they can iso up and send.

Alternatively you could probably just get a Windows Vista disc (beg,borrow,maybe not steal) but any type will do - home premium/business/ultimate etc as they have all versions on each disc just make sure its x86 and not x64 and the product key supplied with your machine (stuck to side of case somewhere) should allow you to reinstall the operating system and then you maybe able to download drivers if your nic is picked up.

The only thing is, how to you know you have formatted the drive and did you create a set of recover cd's when you got the machine as sometimes the recovery data is on a hidden partition and can be accessed outside of windows, can't remember the key combo but sometimes you can launch a recovery process.
