ATTENTION LADIES: YOUR HELP IS NEEDED

Scenario:

As a guy you get a girls number in a bar early on (say before midnight) on a night out. When do u send the first text message to that girl??, The same night say 1-2ish when ur coming out of a club, next morning, afternoon or evening?, the day after that?, or even the day after the day after!!??

I have included the option, I am a guy I want to see the results, so hopefully only the ladies will answer the proper options and lads we will have to work out the new percentages! (taking out our: want to see the results option!)

I would have thought that actually speaking to her or sending flowers would have more effect, but I'm old fashioned like that.

later that night asling if they enjoyed the night, but dont expect a text back till the day after

Whenever your hangover has gone and you can send something sensible!

But personally, I'd much rather be spoken to than texted at.

A quick text asking if she enjoyed the night and got home ok later that night would be good - that way you've let her know you like her and she has your number without having to spend the next day wondering if you'll ever get in touch! :smile:

If a guy had took my number and like you say it was before midnight so you can be farely confident you weren't the ten to two girl - I would like to think he would text me the next day or at least the next night.

Any longer I would presume he wasn't that interested after all. He probably won't call personally because if you don't text him back to show you are interested then he won't feel silly.

Are you sure you gave him the right number - to me after a few vodkas all numbers tend to look the same!

I still say though that I would definately expect a text by now. I would hate to be waiting by the phone all day for that little beep beep thinking it was the bloke and end up getting really peeved cos it's another stupid text advertising cr*p!

I voted the day after the day after. Any earlier than that and I'd think DESPERADO!!! If you give it a day it shows you are interested but that you have your own life with important things to do in it ;)

Definitely not the same night though. That borders on stalking me :hihi:

It's probably just me...but I hate clingy men. I need a man to have his own life and it bugs me if they need me that much!

I voted the afternoon after, shows it isn't just an alcoholic exchange of mobile numbers and by texting the next afternoon it shows that even sober you can remember the girl and are "soberly" interested :D

If I really liked him I'd look forward to a text the same night!!

Now I always leave it a good day or so. Wouldn't want to appear too interested. Unless you asked a direct question...coz that would just be damn right rude!

I would prefer a phone call, text is such a cop out! For me, texting has taken all the fun and nerves away from calling someone for the first time (or them calling you!)!

ZEDEX48K - has she texted you back yet? I am presuming that you sent her a text....

You shouldn't text - you should phone.... Texting tends to lead to lots of messages which are a cowardly way of communicating when wanting to get to know someone or just asking them out on a date..

A text the following afternoon would be nice...speaking from my own experience, by that stage you've still got that excited sense of anticipation 'Ooh I'm going to hear from him any minute now' instead of the much less exciting 'I'm never going to hear from him' slump which kicks in on the Monday/Tuesday (assuming you met on the Saturday night).

Phone calls are an entirely different situation. Again using a Saturday night meeting as an example, I think Monday night is ideal to call. It says 'I've had time to recover from my night out, I've gone to work as normal, and I'm still thinking about you'.

Leave it any longer and chances are she'll have given up hope...

if i really fancied her i wouldn't care when she texted me as long as she did!

I would text her when you feel you have something to say, not just for the sake of it. So if you're wondering the next day, if she had a good night, text her and ask! Or if you wonder, a few days later, if shed like to go out with you, call her!

For me it doesn't matter when he texts or phones, just as long as I feel he genuinely wants to talk and doesn't just want to know how long it will be til you shag him :)

well as the voting has not increased for a while, I asertain from the votes that a guy should send a text before the evening after. With 36 of the 43 (proper votes minus the 26 guy to see votes) equating to 83.72% showing that you should make that text!

Think you're about right there Zedex...though as its a bit of a trek back to my house...the same night is sometimes quite nice too. Havin said that if I or they wait longer...that's ok too!

Id also add that a guy (or gal) shouldnt keep ringing/txting if they dont get an answer or a proper response. Being 'bombarded' by someone just isnt attractive...

Agree with you there, people have said Im stupid for not phoning so many times a day if I don't get an answer or reply etc.. I don't wanna seem like a stalker :roll: :help:
