Hecate 10-08-2008, 12:15 PM I've bought a few soundtracks though it's usually been because a certain song has stood out: My Best Friend's Wedding for Ani DiFranco's cover of Wishin' and Hopin', and Clueless for the acoustic version of Radiohead's Fake Plastic Trees. Of course now I'd just download the individual tracks.
Others I've bought for the entire soundtrack: Good Morning Vietnam, The Commitments and Dead Poets Society (I think that was the first CD I ever bought!).

perplexed 11-08-2008, 08:17 PM I don't know about favourite, but does anyone know if the soundtrack to the French language film "Paris" is available? The film is out at the moment, so I don't know if it's a bit early. Tried to google it etc, but as you can imagine, googling something with "Paris" in the title brings up about 20 billion hits!!:o
Help anyone?
Cheers...

I can't listen to anything from Pretty woman or Dirty Dancing without being reminded of my next door neighbour in halls. Whenever her and her boyfriend decided to have a "doing", they put on this particular tape made up of songs from these films and also the song 'Wonderful tonight'. It was like the cue to go out! :hihi:
Fivetide 14-08-2008, 01:55 AM Oooh... There's a few, but the one I remember best is the Batman Forever soundtrack. The Flaming Lips, U2, Method Man, Nick Cave... all sorts, fairly pop-eclectic, and just a bit left-field coz it's not the sort of film you'd expect to have that sort of soundtrack.

I LOVE the U2 song from that film, I havent heard it in years! Might have to see if I can find it on youtube now!
Hairspray (New version)
The songs on it ROCK! I'd love to go and see the Stage version in London but it's £50 a ticket and that's just the "cheap" seats! :loopy:
goldenfleece 02-09-2008, 03:27 PM LOGANS RUN (1976)....music score by Jerry Goldsmith, its totally superb! No pop songs in it, just great film score music all the way.....
JLG1983 05-09-2008, 07:02 PM Garden State OST (great compilation which outshines the film easily)
Lost In Translation (would love to visit Tokyo & this would be an obvious soundtrack)
The Last Kiss OST (another good pick from Zach Braff)
Little Miss Sunshine (nostalgic, takes you back to the moment I discovered the gem of a film)
Top Gun OST - (reminds me so much of my youth, pretending to be Maverick )
Donnie Darko (the film is all about the music, even though I missed 80's music something resonates with me in this soundtrack)

shullie 07-09-2008, 12:53 PM There is a a whole webiste devoted to film scores, Movie Music UK, writen by a Sheffielder born and bred, called Jon Broxton. It's all done in his spare time.. and for free... i.e it's not his full time job, just his passion. he's now in the States, but he only moved there a few years ago.
http://www.moviemusicuk.us/
It's well worth a look at if you want to know more about the genre. Plus he is a realy nice guy and knows his stuff!
