I watched The Last King of Scotland a few days ago. I thought Forrest Whittaker did an exceptional job and fully deserved his Academy Award. The film was good, on the whole. I liked the idea of mixing in the fictional character of the doctor to reveal more about Amin's personality (well, what we suppose his personality to be like). It really interested me and I found myself on wikipedia about an hour later reading up on what happened in Uganda at the time.

Also I went to see The Dark Knight last week. I thought the film was excellent, that Heath Ledger was excellent but I much prefer the vision of Tim Burton. I love the dark city and comic book style characters Burton created. I miss Catwoman and the Penguin. And I thought that Rachel Dawes was a pretty weak lead female. She doesn't really do anything, although I realise that the focus was the Joker.

I have just bought Babel, but haven't watched it yet.

The last film I saw was also Batman but I preferred the Dark Knight rather than the previous ones for the same reason as you liked the old ones.

Street Kings - Really enjoyed it, would recommend it.

I watched Mirrormask last night, being a fan of Gaiman and thought it was very good. The visual style was brilliant I thought.

I also watched Wheels on Meals, which is my favourite Jackie Chan film.

the dark knight - 3/10 what a let down with a prmoise of so much action yet delivered so very little. car explosions just dont excite like that of someone getting there face mutilated yet each time something like this happens the camera cuts away. it's way to long with a shallow plot to me vaguely resembles that of ichi the killer yet comes nowhere close to the physical style. to me it was a dissapointment suppose its ok for kids

The last film I watched was Doomsday, at 5am this morning. A film so bad it's not even the good kind of bad. What was Neil Marshall thinking?

Are you sure we saw the same film? I thought it was fantastic. If you want explosions, watch some Michael Bay toss*

*as much fun as it is....

I saw Somers Town. I loved the fact that we got to see Polish characters without them being involved in some kind of mafia or just secondary to the plot. I liked that it was shot in black and white as well, I felt like he was saying that things haven't changed that much, kids still need friends and fun. Also I thought it was related to Marek's camera, like we were seeing things through his lens. You never really got Tommo's story, which the director could have gone into a lot of detail about but I think he just wanted to focus on the two boys friendship, and it worked. I spent most of the film in hysterics, which was bad because no one else seemed to be laughing!

Saw HAPPY GO LUCKY last night......totally went over my head, there seemed no point to the film at all.....it came across like a low budget Channel 4 TV movie.....Did nothing for me, unless some obscure social message in it I missed.....

Aww I really liked happy go lucky. It does have a point, it's a story about a man with so much anger he hates the world and have created all these lives in his head. When he meets Poppy he wants to reach out to her and be close to her but he can't because he's so socially awkward and angry. I think it's a really touching chatacter analysis.

I watched The Silence the other day, definitely one of the best films I've ever seen.

Bought Labyrinth (on LMs request) from HMV yesterday and we both fell asleep in it last night! Also bought Across the Universe (Beatles musical) for £5, so quite looking forward to watching that as I didn't get to see it when it was in the cinema.

I saw Nightwatch (again) then straight away saw Daywatch (the sequel). Had me TV plugged into teh stereo, volume up and lights off. Ooooh, neither of them disappointed. 9.5/10 the both (which was v.cool as sequels are usually below par).

Like dirty Russian vampire sort of Matrixy films, only better and less pin-downable. With urban style oozing from every bit. (I quite like them.)

I love Samuel L Jackson and I even have a soft spot for Renny Harlin (The Long Kiss Goodnight was excellent), but I thought Cleaner was disappointing. It had an interesting premise, and Jackson was great as always, but the cop out pish poor ending was a complete let down and ruined a potentially interesting story.

Last film bought: The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Haven't watched it yet. Last film watched: Vantage Point: Excellent. Nicely twisty turny with its play on others' perspectives.

I watched Lust Caution at the weekend. I thought it was a total Wong Kar Wai rip off and quite derrogatory to women.

I watched the last film in the God's Silence trilogy by Ingmar Bergman - Winter Light. I liked it a lot but wasn't as entranced as when I watched The Silence. Some of the soliloquoys were amazing though.

I watched The Strangers the other day at the pictures and give it at least 9 out of 10. I was the person who got so engrossed in it i atcually screamed out loud and totally embarrased myself and my partner. Lets put it this way my blinds are firmly shut tonight and i am not opening them for anyone.

Last film i bought erm let me think oh i know The Devil Wears Prada which is ok as a girlie film i guess.

The last film I watched was called Gorgia Rules. It stars Lindsey Lohan which should have warned me what it was going to be like. It was ok but I have to say I am shocked that it has a rating of only 12 because the whole film is based around a girl who has been abused byher father.

Just watched Venus (starring Peter O'Toole, Leslie Philips, and Jodie Whittaker). A great and very touching film about life and death, love and obsession.

The Fall-Visually incredible. an amazing fantasy film

Burn After Reading-One of the Coen Brother's best. Really snappy dialogue.

Max Payne-Oh dear. loving the constant rain/snow though

How to lose friends and alienate people-There's a fascination with Simon Pegg being the newt bad US comedy actor it seems. doesn't really work

I really want to see The Fall. In fact you've just reminded me to put it on my lovefilm list.

Burn After Reading at the weekend was good. It's not my favourite Coen brothers but it became extremely funny and clever from about halfway to the end. And I love Frances McDormand if that's how you spell her name!
