So the nice weather is here and the washing can be dried outside again, then along come the birds and crap all over it.

Can anyone suggest a way to get bird lime stains out of cotten shirts? they have been washed three times and soaked in Vanish (pink power:gag: ) and yet the **** is still staining the garment.

Come on let's hear how you got rid of the staining.

I blame Dawny for sending that damned Blackbird my way

:hihi: :hihi: Oh joy, it warms my heart to hear of someone elses plight regarding birds of the feathered variety.

I blissfully slumber now I have got rid of my problem.

If your shirts are white you could try bleach. Perhaps that new powdered Cillit Bang might work.

If all else fails get a tumbel dryer! I do sympathise because washing dried outside smells lovely when not covered in cr*p!

I think Stain Devils may do something that could help. I do wonder what the birds round your way are eating to leave such stubbon stains, perhaps you should stop throwing out the curry :suspect:

f_g, I hope you're not trying to start up the cat debate again, i.e responsibility of owners....I was going to try to say something funny about people taking responsibility for their washing, but I couldn't word it right...lol

You definately do not need a cat, cats are stupid, selfish and contribute nothing to nature. Darwin turns in his grave at feline evolution.
Be carefull owdlad, you will incur the ire and vengeance of the forums animal rights clique if you continue to question natures ways.
You will be burned like the whicker man in front of forum users, or at the very least you will get your wrist slapped violently and publicly by some moderator who has either
A: been asked by the clique to stop you posting comments they find offensive.
B: thinks you have stepped outside the boundaries of the elite users model of etiquette.

As for the birds, confectionery/slingshot combo 100%

This is from here (http://www.howtocleananything.com/hca_tip_listingByCategory.asp?Category=HouseInteri or&SubCategory=Laundry) :

"How can I clean bird droppings from cotton/poly blend clothes? "

The best thing to do if the stain is fresh use laundry pre-treatment.
Try this technique :

Use one which is enzyme based, you also can use a laundry booster in addition to your regular laundry detergent (many laundry boosters contain enzymes which break down organic materials).

If the stain remains soak the stained area in a mixture of enzyme digestant and warm water for 1 hour and re-launder. This should do the trick. As a last resort bleach with the strongest bleach safe for the fabric.

Always read and follow garment label instructions and warnings.

....... or why not cut out the middle-man and feed laundry booster to the birds?:D

Owdlad,

I can understand how it must be bothering you, but did you really have to have a go at poor Jack Duckworth with that soiled shirt this evening?:D

Has anyone else noticed the tendency for birds to crap on yellow cars more than any other colour? I had a work colleague who always found her yellow car was covered in bird crap, no matter where she chose to park in the office carpark. Cars either side of her would be crap free though.

Hi Owdlad I thought that you and Dawni1 might like this poem.I got it from the news paper.

I woke early one morning
The earth lay cool and still
When suddenly a tiny bird
Perched on my windowsill
He sang a song so lovely
So carefree and so gay
That slowly all my troubles
Began to slip away
He sang of far-off places
Of laughter and of fun
It seemed his very trilling
Brought up the morning sun
I stirred beneath the covers
Crawled slowly out of bed
Then gently shut the window
And crushed his f----ng head
I am not a morning person,

Little birdie,
Broken wing,
Cannot fly,
Cannot sing,
Useless bugger.
