I have just noticed that Chruch Street is going to closed for a week for tram track replacement.

I was wondering if this was a localised thing?

I must admit it is looking a bit ropey especially where the cobblestones meet the concrete. That bit seems to get a fair battering by the buses.

Presumably then there wont be any trams running between Hillsborough and city hall since there's nowhere for them to turn around, is there?

There is a crossover at Shalesmoor, so I suppose in theory if they reduced frequency they could run from Hillsborough as far as the University, where they would reverse, run wrong line back down Netherthorpe Road and cross over into the correct platform at Shalesmoor. Would probably be easier and safer to terminate at Shalesmoor, then provide replacement buses to Fitzalan Square.
