Hi, I love playing pool, but there's just no one I know who will have a few games with me so I was wondering if anyone knows or goes to any good snooker/pool clubs (or even pubs with a fair few pool tables) and if they'd like a partner. I'm great at pool, never played snooker but I would like to learn and I'd have a go at least.

Hi , there is Rileys (newly refurbished) on Sharrowvale Rd, I used to go all the time with my ex boyfriend but when we split up I stopped going.. I'm not working in Sheffield at the moment so I have no free time to play! I'm a snooker girl myself, and haven't been since it was 'done up' but they may have pool there too now!

I've got membership for Rileys off Eccleshall Road and used to go there a lot after work last year but haven't been for ages.

Wow, so many people, thanks sparklesista, MTheo and Deejay for replying. Now it's the problem of choosing. I'd choose you all if I had more free time lol. Right, well, starting from this Monday (2nd May) I'll be able to start as I will actually have money and some free time (stocktakes on sundays are always great fun especially when I have to work about 12 hours minimum).

Pool/snooker, pubs/clubs, whatever, I don't mind, willing to join and learn. Sorry if I can't make it on certain dates and stuff like that but if anyone is going anywhere for a game sometime next week or whenever you fancy, send me a private message or email me at secret_world41@hotmail.com and I'll let you know if I'm free.

Why don't you all go and watch the snooker final somewhere on monday and have a few games of pool in the interval or between afternoon and morning sessions? I know thats what I'd be doing if I didn't have to work :(

Great, how convienient is that! That'd be great, no choosing and plenty of people to play pool with. Are you planning on going anytime soon?
By the way, thanks for the advice Leddi but there's probably no tickets and have to work too, how rubbish is that?

Oh yeah, for the arena there won't be any tickets, but most big clubs have it live on big screen and its a big turn out too! working on bank holiday is rubbish! :)

because playing and having fun is better than watchin it live....i saw ebdon a couple of years ago and i fell asleep....REALLY!!! and i have long legs...so uncomfy in them tiny seats.

i'll stick to playing (badly) :D

I fear you have not read my post correctly MTheo , I'm both a lover of playing AND watching snooker, the bigger clubs have the matches on the big screens, which is fun to watch and then when they are on a break, you play a few games yourselves! I'm not suggesting that instead of playing pool/snooker you just buy tickets to the crucible. P.S anybody would fall asleep watching Ebdon!!

Me, my boyfriend and Duffman all played a couple games of pool in the Deep End in Hillsborough yesterday.

I nearly beat Duffman! :clap: I got right down to the black! :D

(I will beat you one day my friend! Mwuahahaha! ;) )
