Thanks it's good to know, with D being so nasty with other dogs he is muzzled and I'd hate another dog to come up to him and attack him and he not be able to defend himself. I'm not sure how effective my doggy corrector spray would be if a dog really wanted to attack, though it works when they refuse to go away (D does not take any notice of it, as he's too busy trying to get them!)

Shame there is no description of the dog (colours/ pattern) as there is lots of lovely staffy's that are no bother in that area.

Before i opened the link i just had a feeling it would be one of the breeds that the media want to cause hype about eg Staffies, Akitas etc and was not wrong.

The only thing that strikes me as strange about it is the vet bill, her vets must be extremley cheap if alot of damage was done.

I was visiting near this area some weeks ago and was amazed at the number of young men with staffies or bull breed crosses, one or two each and meeting up in gangs. The lady visited said that in some open areas the kids are frightened to play because of these fools with dogs who take delight in setting the dogs on other dogs and kids. Once again the right dogs in the wrong hands.
Dont know about this attack but there seems to be quite a few of these idiot owners in the area so the dog could have belonged to one on them...

Well it wouldn't be in the paper if it was a Yorkie or Labrador that carried out the attack. Heaven forbid!

Glad it was not just me thinking it

No not good reading if its not a dog breed the media are determind to persicute.

I do feel sorry for the lady and her dog involved but lets face it if it had been a poodle for example would it make the paper???? I think not wouldnt sell enough papers

This has also happened to my sister-in -law at Grimesthorpe, she had a rescue dog which was a lovely little dog and she was walk near Earl Marshall Road a staffie which wasn't on a lead ran and grabbed her dog by her mouth and dragged her about with it's teeth still holding on, it also bit under her back leg,
and when my sister and her son tried to get it off their dog it bit both of them and they had to be taken to hospital, her poor dog had to go to the vets and it cost her £200.00. The owner of the staffie bravely ran away!
