Recently in the press there has been a lot of publicity about the obesity gene, with this in mind Concord Sports Centre and Sheffield Hallam University are proposing a research study to find the genetic causes of obesity.
Dr Jeff Breckon of Hallam University says, “This study will help us to begin to understand the processes involved from a behavioral and genetic perspective.”
Dave Birds the center's Fitness Specialist who lost 12 stone and is piloting the scheme says “This is an exciting opportunity offering motivation, help and guidance through free sessions with one to one training at Concord.”
Concord Sports Centre are looking for suitable people to take part in the 12 week study which will be held at Concord Sports Centre starting in September 2008.
The centre will be holding an open morning on 16th August between 9am—1pm for people to find out more information.
