Does anybody know where I can find a map online to navigate the labyrinth surrounding the train station now?

I have a paper copy from a newspaper, but an online one would be handy for sending to friends :thumbsup:

What's the point? It would only chage again within the hour:confused:

I quite like driving around there actually. You never know what the road's going to be like on that particular occasion, so it's all quite exciting.....

You never know where they've decided to plunge the pedestrians through the dark and rain either :mad:

I like the visual imagery of plunging pedestrains....

Maybe they're having a laugh because anyone walking to or from the station is likely to a) have very heavy bags and b) be in a rush.

Talk about kicking them while they're down. I also particularly like the way they rub salt into the wound by displaying a massive poster as to how the whole area SHOULD look. Gateway to Sheffield or the Krypton Factor? You decide....

Ive been driving for three years, but never driven in sheffield before, just bought a car last week and the place that i am most nervous about: is that of the labyrinth around the train station!!

There is likely worse to come for some folk. Wonder what interesting diversions will be prescibed for the poor commuters who use Mowbray,Corporation and Nursery Streets as their routes to work/home once the IRR scheme gets seriously under way ?? :suspect:

It is at the bottom of this page (http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/out--about/road-works/major-schemes/sheaf-square) . Clear as mud, too!:thumbsup:

The diagram looks very complicated but its really not that bad. I drive to/from Meadowhall weekly using this system and although the part by the train station is shambolic in terms of road surfacing and so on, the route isn't difficult as long as you can follow road signs and if you can't then you need to ask yourself why you have a licence :D

Ha, I live at the Leadmill student halls.. its a joke.. to get there from the magic roundabout coming past the station, you have to do a kind of one way corkscrew of about hlaf a mile, possibly more, to get to the road you passed 10 minutes ago... its hilarious... and then the same to get back out!

I am SO not looking forward to that!! I live near Infirmary Road and work in Barlborough - I have 3 routes I can use to get to work, but ALL of them involve Nursery Street. I may have to start leaving half an hour earlier just to get in on time.

For the time being though, the way home is a little easier at West Bar roundabout as there's never any traffic coming round since they closed the road off in one direction.

This all goes to confirm my fears about SCC road planning dept. That is they're either barmy or exist on another plane from the rest of us.

Do you think young prospective road planners have their common sense removed when they go to Road Planner College?
:}

Hey, you ought to try living in Hillsborough - it's like that permanently.
