I graduated from university 1 years ago.
I dont have much interest in doing what i studied at university (events/Leisure industry).
For a year i have been an administrator/receptionist and im so bored of it.
Ive worked in the same place for a year.
I have no idea what i want to do with my life.
I know most people work to earn money but I cant think of anything worse than hating my job.
Is there anyone out there who actually enjoys their job and feels lucky to do it?
I just cant stand the thought of being stuck in an office 9-5 for the rest of my life!
Im such a friendly outgoing person i want to use those skills.
Im only 25 but feel very lost. x

If it's any consolation I was a bit lost in my mid 20's too. I had a job I didn't feel happy with and felt quite stuck, so I went back to Uni part time while I worked (and had children) and changed my career. I'm pleased to report that I am happy in my work now.

Welcome to the treadmill, the first thirty years are the worst, Mortgage, kids, car loan and that’s just for starters, there is light at the end of the tunnel but it’s a long slog, if you can find a job you enjoy that pays the bills you will be one lucky person.

We have just got back from our holiday where we met a deputy head teacher and he loved his job, isn’t it strange how the media would have us believe that teachers are all wanting to jump ship. :suspect:

I just feel so lost, im only 25 but it seems all my friends/family of similar ages are a lot more settled in a career and im just doing temp admin work!!!!!!
I wouldnt even mind going back to uni/college to learn a new skill or something.
I have thought about fitness kind of thing, maybe a bit too lazy.
I love takign photos and thought about photography but i cant imagine it being very easy to get into.
I also would love to do something to do with diet/nutrition but again i dont know what career oportunities there are avalible.

One thing i have been interested in is nutrition and diet.
I could watch programmes on it all day and read magazines about it all day too.
Is it the kind of job i could ever make any money doing?

HI
The only thing I would say is, if you do not do anything with your degree is has been a waste of the years you have spent studying, the debts you may have incurred while studying will have been for nothing. By your description of yourself, I would have thought the events leisure business right up your street. Have you truly investigated all the avenues of this very varied industry.
At the end of the day, you are right, you must be happy in life, its not a rehearsal, that is for sure.

It certainly isn’t a rehearsal but unfortunately we all have to live, in a ideal world we would all have a job pursuing our chosen interest or hobby but events usually takeover and £££££ come before being “happy”.

i didn't mention the salary, i just encourage you to find a happy job, when you work, you get paid to support yourself no matter how much it is.

Im a 3D artist and Games tester. :) and im currently working on a script to make my own CG movie and hoping to take it to cannes film festival next year! :)

To those who hate there job, if you get the chance, find something you love doing, and turn it into a career. Its possible, i did it. Playing computer games and creating art work on my PC...hope ya all find what your after from your job. If you are miserable and its proper getting you down, get out now, cos it will never get better and you'll start falling asleep at your desk and you'll be on self destruct mode and that will just end up in you getting the sack! I know cos I ended up in the same scenario.

i work part time while at uni, as a support worker at aston youth club. i used to volunteer their but applied for a paid post once i had done some OCN qualifications. I dont think of it as work as it's really enjoyable, and get on well with all the staff and young people.
before that i worked part time at river island in meadowhall for nearly three years! now that was a pain in the ar*e!

Become a personal trainer they can earn quite a bit

personal trainers can, but it depends if their freelance or part of the club! they have to pay a percentage of their earnings to the club they are training people in
