A friend pointed me to a new website that has just gone up which details issues to do with potential changes to the access rights on Blackamoor.

http://www.blackamoor.info/

It looks like they city council are trying to 'devolve' responsibility... and presumably reduce costs... as a result of which they needed to approach the Charity Commission for a change in the Deed of Covenant...as a result there is a chance that access to this land may become more restricted...

Have a read and post your comments in the forum...

I may be wrong on this but I thought they were going to try and move some of the paths to help to protect the flora and fauna up there......

Same number of paths just in different places (or something along those lines).

Contact Sheffield Wildlife Trust.

The main point is that they are applying to get the terms of the deed of covenant changed which will then have long term issues. Many things like this start with 'insignificant' changes and then further down the line other changes are implemented which were not originally proposed.

Well that's a fair point. I don't know exactly what they are proposing to change but anything that gives better protection to a nature reserve is probably a good thing.
