Hi, I am a 37 year old female who has alot of experience with live and studio work, back in the 90s. Since moving to Sheffield 7 years ago I have failed to get any musical projects going, beyond solo stuff, mainly because my priority is my kids and I have been too knackered! But I love playing and really feel the need to get back into it.

Ideally what I'm looking for is an existing acoustic outfit (unconcerned about the material although I am not a Jazz fan) who have the need for a guitarist, possibly who can also sing (don't mind doing backing vox at all). I am also learning bluegrass Mandolin and would love to use that if possible. I would also consider anyone who wants to form a duo/group from scratch, but would prefer someone who is an experienced player/performer.

Without wanting to sound arrogant I am a very good guitarist (Grade 8 fingerstlyle), can sing lead or harmony and pick things up easily, so I would like people who are also talented and musical.

I am also quite shy in social situations so it would be great to get involved with some likeminded individuals of a similar age who maybe know the scene better than I do and like to have a laugh. I do work Mon-Wed evenings but am happy to practise regularly outside these times and hopefully do fairly regular gigs. I have a good guitar and AER acoustic amp, microphone etc.

Please P.M me if you are interested.

Thanks for reading this!
Wee Kathy

Hi

I saw your post about playing some music.

I'm not a technically brilliant musician bt I have been playing variously drums, vocals and harmonica in bands for many years, although it's 10years since I did anything very serious.

Love to do anything that is roots based, mainly do blues with my harmonica but can sing lots of stuff. Would love to improve my vocals. I am a good blues singer but not been trained properly so good as a front man, not so good (in fact not at all good) at harmonies.

Let me know if you are interested in meeting up and tryign a few songs - I am enjoying Nanci griffith at the moment - do you know 'Going back to georgia' that she did with counting crows?

Cheers

Stuart

PS I tried to PM you but it says your message box is too full, so PM me!
