I never went there either but you used to get to it up Poole Road, off Prince of Wales Road. (Not sure if its still called Poole Road any more). A quick look at the satellite photos. suggests there is factory(s) on the track site now. These could be a have Poole Road address or a Acres Hill Road address.

Before - say -1960, people working at Davy-United (D-U) used to park their cars on the race track car park. That was before D-U built their own car park on Prince of Wales Road.

Yes, that's right, it was off Poole Road, which is still there. I lived on Pearce Road which is one of the streets off Poole Road. As children we used to play on the dog track collecting used tickets! Lots of happy memories.
