Okay, I've started looking, but it's a small print issue and I'm struggling to dig it out of all the 'goes-faster' advertising.

My parents live in the back of beyond, and plan to move within 12 months, so:
it has to be a BT connection, not cable
there needs to be no tie-ins (like BT have coz of their free modem offer)
1 meg will probably suffice
Any suggestions?

I'm tempted to see if a neighbour has wireless and ask if they can share :D

You are a Plusnet fan aren't you Strix? Plusnet do a suitable service, if ye clickety here (http://www.adslguide.org/isps/prodinfo.asp?id=1283) there's the details.

Full listing here (http://www.adslguide.org/isps/packagelist.asp?filter=advanced&mcf=1&mceq=E&mcch=1&wrf=1&wrch=2&tf=1&tch=1&advsearch=true). I've searched on a BT line, wires only with 1 Months contract terms. I'm sure there'll be someone there you like!

Thanks Lurch - I did look at that website but overlooked the box with the minimum service info in

Wasn't keen on the deals Plusnet are offering at the mo, compared with BT, but I think BT have a 1yr tie in, so that's not suitable.

This isn't going to be fun :(

Nah, it'll be easy! There's 34 ISP's on those 4 pages with 1 month terms, one of them has got to take your fancy surely.......

It's the wading through 34 :(

That's why McDonalds was so successful - limited choice, easy to pick ;)

I have started to narrow it down though. Thanks Lurch

The only company I know without a minimum one year contract is virgin, it's a bit pricier than most but if you only need it for a short time it's the best option.
