One day soon, Google will have taken over the world.

PS. I'm liking the Sheffield text being bigger than Manchester and possibly Leeds.

I've had a play with the site, and I find it much easier to use than Multimap! Good find carcrash!

My god. I couldn't wait to get away from it.

I hate it. Absolutely hate it.

Don't think I'll bother with this service of the mighty G's!

I had a play with this the other day. For looking at as an A-Z it seems OK. Handy for printing off a town centre map when working away etc...

As for directions, absolutely useless. It went wrong, twice, within 500yds of my house, when travelling in 2 different directions. The return journeys weren't any better.

Never had a problem with Multimap, so I'll be sticking with that for directions for now.

hmm, it's on some weird projection or it is badly skewed. Anyone else take a look at the road configuratiom ,or indeed the whole british isles, and tell me it isn't flattened. and slightly sheared.

I was looking at this the other day. I am not keen on it. I think I'll stick to the more established sites in this field.

I just looked up my address and it's set out completely different to what it should be :?

I prefer the American version a lot more. Hope they do that with everyone.

It says my streets in Norton, when its really in Arbourthorne, miles away from Norton. It also went the longest and most complicated route possible from my house to work. Lots more work needed, methinks.

This is a beta version and it will be more like the US version with digital satalite pics in the near future

Not very computer savy, is it the same thing like map quest ?

I've tried Google Map and I very much prefer Multimap. I'm not too fan of the vector drawing.... Mmmmh sweet no right clic to save the portion of the map (not).

mutlimap have the advantage of at certain scales Ordinance Survey maps as well as cheap areal photos: a good combo !

Just tried it - Looks good to me. The route planner works well too - AA routeplanner sends me down Cobnar Road which would defeat a tank.

Shows us as being at Norton too (though we're literally miles away in Walkley:o).

That will likely be ages if they're waiting for a day fine enough to take satellite pics ;)
