It'll be interesting to see what the new management have done to the place and will be really interested to see how they cater for the dog walkers in the area.
Bacon butties!!! Tut Tut Tut!!
What's the point in going to a gym?

Thanks shelley1 for the post. Will definitely be going back to the cafe in the rose park. It was still under renovation when I last went to Graves Park. Really pleased to learn that the council have got the cafe back into shape and open for business again.

Because someone runs in front of you with a Cornetto dangling off a stick? :D :suspect:

I'm ashamed to say, but Graves park is somewhere I've never been to; I lived at Woodseats for a year too! Must give it a go now that the weather's turned nice!

Methinks we might have the making of a forum meet on a Sunday afternoon? Shelly1, shieshuk and Wallbuilder, Kristian and me make 5. How about it msbehavin and Rubydazzler - you two live locally. Cornettos at the Rose garden cafe? Rare breeds, and woodland walks too. Any other takers?

I'm definately up for that Red! All we would need now is someting to keep the wind off us while picnic-ed (you try spelling that at this hour! :D ) I wonder; where could we get good piece of trellis? :suspect:

"run"? What's that strange activity?

OK - who wants to suggest a date and time for a meet on a Sunday afternoon? Rounders optional. Running banned.

did you go? how was the rounders? what's the cafe like now - any improvements? I remember it as great for parents of small kids but not much fun for anyone else cos of the noise. And have the reindeer come back from the stag yet? they've been gone for months . . . .

We've used the cafe 3 times already!
Including last Sunday but there wasn't a rounders bat to be seen!

The staff have told me that they are council employees as the franchisee had backed out. That could explain the 4 or 5 staff hanging around on a quiet Tuesday afternoon.

It looks nice. The indoor play area has gone and they are short of a bin or two in the garden, but is nice to sit in the sun with an ice cream and a cuppa.

The deer are back, the pigs have got a bath and we still can't get a feather off the peacock.

The meet didn't take place this Sunday (not organised enough..!!) but I went for a walk and found the cafe to be very pleasant!! didn't appear to be a kids play area anymore but a more 'plush' area of seating for reading etc then tables set out for dining!! Toilet block a long awaited plus !!

There was menu's available on the tables for hot food and a selection of chilled sandwiches, drinks, cakes, confectionary and ice-cream!!!

I am sure we will organise one another weekend when more of the Woodseats area Forum people are available like MsBehavin and Cheeky G etc

Count me in for the game of rounders...... dont want to be backstop though get me teeth knocked out. lol. George the dog is a very good fielder.

MsBehavin is back this week so maybe up for a game to show off her tan. and Iam sure Cheeky Gee and Twinkla would be up for it as they both lurve rounders. MsB will only do it if theres alcohol involved. (tee hee). Mind you she makes a good umpire.
