Oh waht happened to him,
whatever happened to Rod,
he's no longer on the telly,
that's rather odd.

He`s... not the man he used to be. (http://www.marinetheatre.com/images/RodneyBewessmilinghandonheart1_001.JPG)

I know. He used to be James Bowlem.

Perhaps you mean James Bolam?

I believe I do. How very clever of you to spot that. There are no flies on you.

I saw Rodney Bewes about two years ago at the Sevenoaks Playhouse, in a one man show doing '' Three Men In a Boat ''. He was very good.

I read somewhere he lived in Cadgwith, Cornwall. Nearly blind now by all accounts!

Come on keep up. The last Likely Lads show was recorded in early 1970s.

Rodney is still alarmingly absent from telly.

I thought that he lived in Henley - on Thames, when I saw him my late wife and I were late for the start of the show. As expected he made some remark to the audience about this, and I, in my usual boorish way, boomed out '' don't bloody push it pal''.

The theatre was somewhat quiet for a bit.

I saw him in the Bar at the interval and apologised; he was OK about it.

Excellent play on words !

The story is, however, true.
