Hey all,

The missus is away for a few weeks so decided to wipe the dust of my mountain bike...................I live next to Firth Park, won't be using the car to take the bike anyway, so was looking for suggestions for a good session on the bike, are there any trails out there (I came across a bit of woodland behind Concord Park once) locally for within an easy ride away.

Hmm it's just started to rain but, no, I shall get out there!

Thanks,

Dave.

....maybe I'm the only one with a mountain bike in Firth Park!! (lol) :) ....seriously tho, headed for Concord Park (watched a bit of golf and onto the woodland trails behind) and ended up Ecclefield way, couple of trails across open fields, re-joined TPT at one point but almost got wiped out by kids on motorcross bikes twice their size and then back into Concorde Park (more kids on mini motorbikes playing dodge with old ladies and dogs...) and back.....................all in all about 20k and feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling better.

Night night.

Dave.

Im your side of town and looking for new cycle routes. Ive found a part of the TPT which runs from the top of Grenoside and goes a few ways, i went on the trail towards Wortly and there are some good off road trails.

Ill have to try the one behind Concorde, i ride down woolly wood bottom to work so im guessing its the same woods that run along there.

Try going around the Ladybower/Derwent Dams when you get te chance. You can go on a decent road surface up to the top and come back down on the other side which is rougher track back to the visitors centre or if you are more ambitious there are more challenging routes up there. If you go to the visitors centre and bike hire somebody there will give you plenty of info on the different routes you can use. It's very popular so if things turn bad and you fall off and get injured somebody will be about to help you out. You might even get a trip in the air ambulance if it gets too bad. Take your mobile with you in case of emergency.
