Hi All

Just wondering what anyone thought was the most handy place to live (not too far from town) on a good bus route for working at the Northern General Hospital?

I'll be starting a course there in Sept and am looking for the most convenient place to live - would like to be able to walk there at a push if it snowed etc..

Thanks heaps
Ems

Areas aroung northern general are norwood, shirecliffe, longley, southey, page hall. I would personally not want to live in page hall but the other areas mentioned all have nice parts to them.

I have a one bed flat on Herries rd, its a short bus ride away.
If you are interested about renting it.

As an alternative to living near to NGH...

There's also a free shuttle bus for staff that connects the hospitals. It goes from Hallamshire Hospital-Weston Park Hospital-NGH (and reverse direction) at half-hourly intervals. It doesn't stop on the way so it's quite quick. So maybe you could live in Broomhill/Crookes/Crookesmoor and walk down and get on that. Not sure of timetable though so may not be practical for commuting (hospital staff will have details of the service).

Or you could live in Hillsborough/Lower Walkley and get the 20/20a or 97/97a buses. Regular services but they trundle around the houses a bit.
