Still one of my favorite bands, i open every dj set I do with green onions. Steve Cropper is one of the most under rated guitarists ever.

Two of the Booker T band went on to be part of the Blues Brothers band, Steve (The Colonel) Cropper and Donald (Duck) Dunn. Cropper's been involved in co-writing some of the classic songs of the 60s and 70s, including (Sitting on the)Dock of the Bay, Knock on Wood, In the Midnight Hour and Soul Man. One of the world's top Blues and Soul Guitarists IMO.
I heard they were booked at the Park Gardeners for a 70s and 80s night :D

And the original drummer Al Jackson Jr died in 1975 :(
Thanks for the Booker T info folks.
Spoke to a mate of mine from way back who told me
that the support act for that concert was BLUE MINK.
I always thought that Blue Mink was a seperate show.
So there ya go.

They also recorded under the name of The Packers and recorded a soul classis called "Hole in the wall " which was a Mojo favourite ! I believe I went to that concert but I can't remember any other acts either !
Yes Steve Cropper was brilliant and was greatly underated.
Remembered an old DJ at the Heartbeat use to play Time is Tight if he didn't get off with a girl and he use to say time is tight and so are you my darling.
