Type - forum - into google & it comes up with loads.
Prefix - forum - with another word or place name & there'll be at least one specific one for that topic!

Good luck to them - speaking from personal experience I know that it's not getting the thing running that's hard it's geting the community built.

And before anyone says, I use phpBB myself and it's not bad!! :)
